Trail Overview
This short but scenic connector runs between Springdale Road and North Magee Road, offering a relaxed 1.5-mile drive through a quiet stretch of northern Michigan forest. The route is a hard-packed sand two-track that winds through lush, dense tree cover, giving it a tucked-away, “hidden trail” feel despite being an easy drive. The forest canopy stays close in many sections, creating a shaded corridor that feels calm and immersive—especially in summer when everything is green and thick with growth. This is a beginner-friendly trail with minimal technical challenge, making it ideal for stock 4x4s, casual trail cruising, or a scenic shortcut between roads. There are several natural pull-off spots along the way, making it easy to pass oncoming vehicles without stress. A portion of the trail crosses private property, so staying on the established two-track is important—this section is one of those “access granted, respect required” stretches that keeps the route open for everyone. While it’s not an obstacle-heavy trail, the charm here is in its simplicity: smooth sandy bends, quiet woods, and a peaceful pace that feels more like a forest drive than a technical route. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a quick nature break between more demanding trails.
