Trail Overview
This trail begins with hard-packed sand, often damp at the edges where shallow water seeps across the surface, setting the tone for a route that feels alive and ever-changing.
It’s a single-car-width track, but with occasional pull-offs that let you ease over and pass or simply take in the quiet of the forest.
As you move deeper in, the terrain becomes more dynamic—small mudholes appear early on, then steadily grow in size and depth, some dropping a full foot or more, demanding attention and the right line. Natural springs feed sections of the trail, sending thin ribbons of running water across the sand and dirt.
Occasional downed or leaning trees partially encroach into the path, but each one has a navigable route around it, adding to the feeling of a lightly used, backwoods passage.
One section breaks the rhythm with a noticeable off-camber lean and a rut roughly a foot deep, testing traction and placement before the trail straightens again beneath a corridor of towering trees that rise sharply on both sides.
Depending on your direction of travel, the route alternates between gradual climbs and steady descents, keeping the drive engaging without ever feeling repetitive.
