Trail Overview

This trail is very narrow for full-size vehicles. Jeeps, smaller SUVs, and high-clearance vehicles are needed. It's a narrow track with very few places to pass. This is the shortcut from the Horseshoe Bay Northpoint area of Keweenaw Peninsula to the Rocket Range and High Point camping areas. There are fairly steady changes in elevation and no significant rocks or rock ledges.

Difficulty

Even after several days of rain, the trail has good traction. It's narrow with long shallow stretches of mud puddles in the tracks.

When you enter the trail you immediately hit a gate keeper. Trail is severely washed out. 26 degrees off camber. Steer into the wall and you will be ok. Few big rocks. Ran on 33s, experienced driver. Rest of the trail is really easy. Great rustic camping and beach access. Trail ends with chained off area. Turn around is a must.
