Hill Climb

This single-lane dirt, gravel, and sandy two-track winds through the Grayling Forest Management Unit, where narrow sections are balanced by occasional wider pull-offs that allow vehicles to pass. The route travels through a mix of mature pine stands and hardwood forest, one notable hill featuring a 15 to 16-degree pitch that adds a bit of variety without making the route overly challenging. It provides excellent opportunities to spot local wildlife while exploring the area's extensive network of interconnected trails. The surface consists primarily of packed dirt with stretches of loose sand and gravel that can become softer depending on weather conditions, making four-wheel drive helpful but not essential in dry conditions. The trail gradually ends at Post Road, providing a convenient connection to continue exploring nearby routes within the forest. Drivers should expect a relaxing ride with light elevation changes aside from the featured hill climb, while remaining alert for oncoming traffic in the tighter, winding sections. As with all designated routes in the Grayling Forest Management Unit, stay on marked trails and practice Tread Lightly! principles to help protect the forest and preserve access for future visitors.
