Trail Overview
FS 8764 is a classic Michigan two-track trail within the Manistee National Forest. This trail surface consists mostly of dirt and does get pretty tight towards the end. You'll also go over some tree roots, which makes for a different type of surface on this track. This route weaves through a gorgeous section of trees within the forest. There are a couple of places along the route where the track narrows with some tighter trees. Like most Michigan off-road trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. This is not a difficult trail, but it contains a lot of fun and gives access to local hiking, hunting, and other recreation. Regardless of the length or conditions of this trail, it's a route worth checking out. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
