Trail Overview
FS 7526 is a bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located north of the town of Yuma and south of the town of Mesick, right off Highway M-37 near the Hodenpyl Dam Pond, this trail is easily accessible. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, gravel, and sand. This trail is closed to off-road vehicles such as SxS, dirt bikes, ATVs, etc. Highway Legal Vehicle use only. Starting out from the eastern end of M-37, you'll begin on a classic Michigan two-track before it transitions into a dense portion of the forest. As you continue, the trail descends in elevation all the way to the end. There are a couple of sandy and rutted muddy sections, but nothing major, just noteworthy. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! The western end of this trail finishes at the intersection of N 5 Road & W 22-1/2 Road. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it offers other recreation with a lot of fun to be had!
