Trail Overview
FS 6571 is an easy bidirectional trail, yet scenic in its own ways. Located within the Manistee National Forest off Brooks Road, this trail is easily accessible. Starting from the eastern end of Brooks Road, you'll start on a sandy road in the lush trees. You'll weave through those trees alongside the lush vegetation edging the trail. Be sure to take it all in. Shortly after, you'll enter a thicker section of the forest, bringing a really different vibe and mood to the route. There are many different things to find along this trail. Please TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come Prepared! We came across quite a few mud ruts along this trail, so conditions are definitely in play along this trail. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of beauty and gives access to other great trails nearby. The western end of the trail finishes at FS 6570, so if you haven't checked that one out yet, you can do so after this one. Regardless of the conditions of this trail, it's a wonderful route to check out! As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
