Trail Overview
FS 6570 is an easy 1.5-mile bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located just off West 3 Mile Road from the south, this trail is easily accessible. Starting from the southern end, you'll start on a mostly sandy road with thick and lush vegetation edging the trail. You'll twist and turn along this route, taking in all the towering trees. Be sure to take it all in. The forest and nature are the highlights of this trail, beyond the fact that it's a quick connector trail to a few other trails in the area. This trail also runs parallel to the North Country/Iron Belle Trail, which is a hiking trail that can be accessed if that's something you're into. Remember, please TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Like most of Michigan offroad trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, ruts, and washouts. Come Prepared! We did come across a few water/mud holes along this route, so just keep in mind the depth as you approach them. This is not a difficult trail, but it does contain a lot of natural beauty. The northern end of the trail finishes at NFS 6694, so if you haven't checked that out, you can do so after this one! Regardless of the conditions or length of this trail, it's a cool route to check out! As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
This trail is accessible to highway legal vehicles year-round and all others from 4-1 to 11/30.
