FS 5006

FS 5006 is a bidirectional trail within the Manistee National Forest. Located east of the town of Yuma and south of the town of Mesick, this trail is easily accessible. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, gravel, and sand. Starting out from the south end, like the other nearby trails, you'll begin in a dense portion of the forest. As you continue, the trail climbs in elevation all the way to the end. There are a couple of sandy sections but nothing major, just noteworthy. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! This trail finishes at the intersection of FS 5007 & FS 7694. This is not a difficult trail, but it leads to more trails for more opportunities for fun! Regardless of the conditions, this is a cool trail for everyone to check out!
