FS 3101

FS 3101 is a fast-paced, two-lane dirt road that travels through dense sections of the Huron National Forest. Several low-lying areas along the route can fill with water and become muddy after rainfall, so conditions can change quickly. The wide road allows for easy passing and provides a smooth drive through much of the forest. The trail ends at a large turnaround overlooking an open meadow, offering great views across the surrounding Huron National Forest. This open area provides a nice contrast to the dense forest along most of the route and is a good spot to take in the scenery before turning around. Be courteous as private property borders the west side of the road near the end of the route. The west end of the trail is accessed from Sunrise Road - FS 4159. Stay on the established road and avoid driving around muddy sections to help protect the surrounding forest and meadow.
