Trail Overview
This route starts from Stone Road which is a pretty seasonal road. Once on the trail, it's very similar as it descends in elevation. There are multiple side shoot trails and pull-offs for other activities in the area such as hunting and also dispersed campsites. This route used to make a loop using NFS 9866 to NFS 9670, but recently it's been blocked by the Michigan DNR. The trail is mostly dirt and sand with a few small mud/water holes. Both mud/water holes have bypasses around them. This trail is about as pretty as it gets in mainland Michigan for forest foliage.
