Trail Overview
NFS 5367 is an easy & scenic off-road trail for beginners. Located off Harrison Street & Alger Avenue, near Minnie Lake, this route is easily accessible. This trail is easy with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt, and winds through a gorgeous section of the Manistee National Forest. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. There is one particular mud hole that is very rutted out and deep. However, there is a bypass around this section of the trail. Most of this trail is only wide enough for one to two vehicles, with limited places to pass. There are a couple of dispersed camping sites along this track. If you plan on utilizing these, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and seek more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station prior to camping here. One last note, 0.4 miles into the trail, there's a pull-off where you can park and hike over to the East Branch Heald Creek. All in all, this is a fun and unique trail that offers some of the best nature Michigan has.
