Trail Overview
NFS 9530 is an easy & scenic off-road "loop" trail for beginners. Located off Warner Ave and near Timbers Edge Campground, this route is easily accessible. This trail is typically easy with nothing technical, just a few rutted spots that can become muddy and mucky after inclement weather. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt, and curves through a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest. Like most of Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for one to two vehicles, with limited places to pass. There are a couple of dispersed camping sites along this track. If you plan on utilizing these, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and seek more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station prior to camping here. One more note, at the large pull-off, you can park and hike over to nearby Martin Creek. All in all, this is a great trail to get you out in the woods with some of the beautiful nature Michigan has to offer.
