Trail Overview

Mount Wilcox Road is the main loop that meanders through Beartown State Forest. The loop is 4.3 miles and climbs from 1,600 feet to 2,100 feet. The trail begins and ends off Benedict Pond Road. Halfway through the route from either direction is a short spur that breaks off and provides access to the summit of Mount Wilcox. There you will find various structures, a few picnic tables, and a fire tower gated with no public access.

Difficulty

Narrow trail that is two cars wide in various sections. Soft shoulders and relatively steeper climbs with loose gravel. Unmaintained after snow.

I did a full loop on all the trails and it was a relaxing few hours. Well maintained roads, any stock height truck or suv would be able to do these no problem. Gets a little rocky in some areas but overall nothing crazy.
