I just wanted to post a reminder, the land on both sides of this trail are leased to deer clubs. I live just down the road and haven't had any issues, but deer season is here and they have invested a lot in their hunt.

This trail is approximately 1/2 mile from my house. We ride it multiple times per week. Watch for common animals in the area, deer, possums, skunk, wild hogs, and a rare bear. The old house in the woods has been there at least 60 years that my wife remembers and is a dog-trot style with the breezeway closed in. Towards the southern end there are two tall pine trees next to the road. Between are two tombstones. A captain in the CSA and his daughter. Follow the sign to Boggs Cemetery and visit my wife's family. John and Parthenia Matlock came to the area in 1849. He was a civil war POW. My wife's ancestors and we live still on Matlock rd. There is a grave worth contemplating here. One person was born during the revolutionary war and passed after the Civil War. She was alive for both Washington's and Lincoln's presidencies.

We didn't get to drive this trail but we did pass the beginning of it. We saw that new asphalt had been laid. We are not sure how far the asphalt goes. Seeing the other trail report, We figure this trail may be no more.
