Kisatchie National Forest Camp and Trail

Kisatchie National Forest Camp and Trail is an easy, 16-mile off-road route through the scenic pine hills of Louisiana's Kisatchie Ranger District. Winding through dense longleaf pines and hardwood hollows, the well-maintained dirt and gravel roads are suitable for standard four-wheel-drive and high-clearance vehicles. The route features scenic overlooks and multiple free, dispersed campsites. While mostly flat with a technical rating of 2, the clay-based roads can become extremely slick and muddy after rain. Elevation ranges from 100 to 360 feet. Access the trail from Highway 1 near Derry and exit via the Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway.
