Trail Overview

This road starts as a gravel road and leads to Rooks Road, which is slightly tighter. Part of the Scenic Kentucky Adventure Trail Main Section 2, this road has a beautiful waterfall to see, a pair of natural arches, and a shallow creek crossing. This portion of the KAT really offers a lot of beautiful scenery per mile in a mild adventure.

Very easy to pass. However, the water crossing was very high and running hard, probably around 2-2.5 ft deep. Made it across, would not recommend stock ride height vehicles to attempt the crossing if it is high.

Had to move some dead trees off the road. Only about 2-3 inches of water to go through. There’s no waterfall only a small creek. It is a mountain neighborhood so you have cell service the whole time. Very good for beginners. We started on the south end and rode north.

if you just want to kill some time its worth the trip. the tornado damage on this trail is insane and shows a side of the tornado very few will ever see. Use caution. if you come in from the drag stip side you will see a sign at the point dog branch connects to line creek showing areas that are closed. the main gravel rd is clear and open but all side trails are closed for the next 2 years

The creek level is back to normal after many rains. The roads were good even the portions that are pretty much one lane.(just a few of them.). We really enjoyed viewing nature and the evidences left showing the power from the most recent tornado.

Entered from the drag strip side , made it all the way to 192. The creek wasn’t super deep tonight. Didn’t see any closure signs. Super smooth. The mid point was right where the tornado damage is , crazy to drive thru it all out there in the woods. Roads were all clear though. Lots of forest debris on sides of trail thru tornado path. Had a blast. Didn’t see a single vehicle. No green pants either.

Trail is passable in some areas. Had to turn around. Forrest service stopped us and said they are closing the area and did not give a re open date. Forrest service crews are working on the road also

Road was rough in places, we saw the double arches and waterfall. We didn’t try the creek crossing due to heavy rain and it being dark
