Trail Overview
This trail offers a brief but tricky challenge as it weaves through a tighter turn along a slight hill climb. In this section, scattered rocks up to one foot tall require careful tire placement to avoid hitting them and being thrown off your line and potentially hitting any fo the trees that line the trail. As you complete the turn, the trail immediately drops into a muddy area where traction can become difficult, particularly after rainfall. The transition from rock to mud demands controlled throttle and awareness, as momentum and grip are both limited. While the trail isn’t long, this combination of obstacles makes it more technical than it first appears, requiring attention and capable tires to navigate safely.
Difficulty
This trail presents a moderate challenge with tight turns, rocks up to a foot tall, and a muddy drop that can make traction difficult. It requires careful tire placement and steady control. Suitable for experienced drivers with capable 4x4s, especially in wet conditions. Hitting the hill with too much momentum could result in hitting a tree and causing body damage.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
