Trail Overview
This trail winds calmly through the trees, offering a scenic and mostly relaxed drive. The majority of the route is straightforward, with gentle terrain and minimal technical challenges. However, there is one section where the trail becomes heavily rutted and holds deep mud, which can pose a challenge depending on recent weather conditions. Drivers should approach this area with caution, maintaining momentum and being prepared for wheel spin or potential bogging. Fortunately, the surrounding trees provide ample anchor points for winching or self-recovery if necessary. Beyond the muddy stretch, the trail remains simple and continues peacefully through the trees, making it manageable with proper awareness.
Difficulty
This trail is mostly easy, but the deep, rutted mud section raises the challenge. While there are no major obstacles beyond the mud, drivers should be prepared for reduced traction and possible recovery. Trees nearby offer winch points, making it manageable with proper equipment and caution.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
