Easy trail when dry, I can imagine its a bit tricky on a couple hills in snow or heavy rain. I plan to try it out then as well. 4WD not needed when dry

Coasted along in 2WD with nearly no issue for 95% of the trail during brief heavy rains. The later 2 miles (north end) I used 2L to get up/down some hills but could've been managed with a bit of speed. Simple, easy, scenic! Could do with a bit of trash clean up around mile 3-4; didn't have the supplies to trapse about in knee deep mud for it.

Just came across a jeep hitting the trails and a couple of others. Very dusty and dry and mostly just gravel. Some ruts and hills for sure that would make a few parts trickier when muddy. Mostly just in 2 wheel mode but a few parts I flipped 4h or 4l but probably didn’t need it. Fun trail if you’re new to off-roading and would be more of a challenge when muddy but still good enough to feel like you did go off road but not too intimidating.

we've had a lot of rain in the Kansas City area so there were some washouts and a lot of water and mud on the sides of the roads. you could avoid this if you wanted to, but we chose to drive through it to test out the new tires. we started at the southern end and worked our way to Atchison and near the beginning of the trail. we encountered a tree that was hanging over the road but we were able to get underneath it. the water had really washed out a lot of the rock at the end and made climb in the hill a challenge. we had to use four-wheel drive and part of it and the sand and mud mode to get out of the mud. definitely coming back to this trail again.

We followed onX route through Leavenworth onto the Sante Fe route (paved). When we entered the Kickapoo trail, there were numerous mud holes & slick hard pack mud/gravel from previous days snow storm. Never a need for 4wd. Lots of trees/limbs partially on the road. someone had been in the area recently & removed large trees that appeared to have blocked the road. '23 Gladiator. Great car was @ US 73 & US 59 Athison.
