Trail Overview
This trail serves primarily as an access route to some of the deepest and most notorious mud holes in the park on Champlin’s Challenge. The path itself has no major obstacles, making it easy to travel for most 4WD vehicles. However, drivers should be fully aware of what lies ahead, as once you continue past this point, the terrain becomes significantly more extreme. This trail is less about difficulty and more about where it leads.
Difficulty
This trail is easy with no major obstacles; it only has some smaller ruts on it to drive through. It leads directly to the extreme mud pits of Champlin’s Challenge. While the path itself is mild, drivers should be prepared if continuing beyond.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
