Trail Overview

A fun, increasingly primitive forest trail that starts relatively easy with mild rock gardens, shallow muddy ruts, and occasional off-camber sections before steadily tightening as you travel deeper into the woods. Expect significant overgrowth and pinstriping throughout. About halfway in, the trail passes an unusual overgrown asphalt dispersed campsite with a fire pit; beyond this point it appears very lightly traveled, with heavier vegetation, fallen branches and logs that may require moving or carefully driving over. The second half is an excellent exercise in precise vehicle placement, with several extremely tight tree squeezes offering only inches of clearance for a full-size vehicle, along with muddy climbs, exposed roots, small rock gardens and minor erosion. Eventually, a substantial fallen tree blocks further progress and requires a very tight multi-point turnaround among the trees. High-clearance 4WD recommended; expect pinstriping, bring recovery gear, and be prepared to get out frequently to scout, clear debris and spot your vehicle through the tightest sections.

Difficulty

The individual obstacles are generally manageable, but the challenge builds as the trail becomes increasingly narrow, overgrown, and primitive. Expect shallow muddy ruts, small rock gardens, exposed roots, logs, off-camber sections, and several muddy climbs. The greatest difficulty is precise vehicle placement through extremely tight trees, with only inches of clearance in places for a full-size vehicle. The deadfall at the end also requires a very tight multi-point turnaround. High-clearance 4WD recommended, with careful line selection and frequent scouting.
