Trail Overview

1418 Treasure Gulch is a 3-mile out-and-back trail that breaks off from 770 Gold Hill. FS 1418 climbs up and along the west side of the geographical feature by the same name, Treasure Gulch, before cresting the ridge at an intersection with Waterhole Creek, a 50" and under trail. Before the intersection, the trail is one vehicle wide and well-maintained. After the intersection, 1418 Treasure Gulch becomes overgrown, with extensive brush encroachment and brush growing in the middle of the trail. Full-size vehicles will get pinstripes past this point. The trail continues in this state for 1 mile after the intersection, before coming to what appears to be a dead end. Officially, the trail ends here, but in reality, it gets too overgrown to continue. The last picture will show the end of the trail. 1418 Treasure Gulch is open from 06/15 to 9/30.

Difficulty

Treasure Gulch is unmaintained past mile 2, so conditions will vary. As with all trails in North Idaho, snowfall can drastically change conditions, and always bring a chainsaw or other equipment to handle fallen trees.

Nice terrain gets tight in some places but easy to do with higher clearance went with 2 new tacos. Some areas you need 8 inches but good on the rest of the trail.
