Trail Overview
Steep Springs #3450 is an intermediate ATV trail that begins with a moderate climb and ends with a steep, rocky descent. Entering from the east off of Road #40436, the first 3/4 mile features a continuous climb through forested terrain with gradual curves. This section includes larger embedded rocks that must be ridden over, adding difficulty to the uphill segment. After the initial climb, the trail transitions into a sustained descent that drops over 1,500 feet, with the surface becoming loose, rocky, and significantly more technical. Large waterbars and a shelfy edge increase the complexity, especially for less experienced riders. The trail ends at Eightmile Road, where it can easily connect to Trail #3317.
Difficulty
This is an intermediate trail due to the steep grades, chunkier rock sections, and loose rocky descent. Going west to east will be more difficult in the uphill direction, having to keep up momentum to maintain traction on the loose climb.
