Trail Overview

This route starts on Highway 95 near De Smet, Idaho and travels through McCroskey State Park. This is a well maintained road that any vehicle should be able to take on. Signs along the way will teach you some of the history of the area. Just over 6 miles in, you'll come across a day use area with a sizeable picnic shelter containing a large BBQ grill, along with bathrooms and a fire pit with benches. A couple more miles will take you to a campground with potable water and restrooms. This is a neat area to take a drive and see some views.

Trail was in good condition, with some downed trees partially in the roadway. We made it to the Gazebo from ID95, then turned around.

Trail is nearly snow-free. A couple spots that any 4x4 or high clearance 2WD can clear with momentum. Would not attempt the snow portions in a sedan, but give it a week and it should be clear.
