Trail Overview

The German Dugway is a moderately steep fairly rocky switch back that can be used to access the Paris I've caves and Bloomington Lake from the Cub River area, or it is a fun challenging trail on its own. This 5 mile trail has amazing views of the nearby mountains and cache valley floor. Over 10 different types of wildflowers can also be seen on the way.

Entered this trail from the south where it meets Birch Creek Road 407. Was driving a 4 door Wrangler Rubicon. Immediately regretted my decision as the trail was more narrow than I anticipated and mostly runs along the edge of the steep mountains with long steep drop-offs. Trail was barely wide enough for my Jeep. Wouldn't want to take a full size 4x4 truck on this trail as it is so narrow. After about 1 mile which took probably 20 minutes, I turned around as it just wasn't worth the pucker factor for the remainder of the trail. More suited to SxS or ATV width vehicle.

This can be a very scary trail if you're not equipped, and inexperienced. This was a very sketchy trail for us going up, as well as for a group of four full size trucks going down. They got stuck at some points and had a rough time going down. Very steep, very rocky, and lots of tilting towards the cliff. If you try this trail in anything bigger than a SXS, you WILL scratch up both sides of your vehicle to bushes on the side of this very narrow trail. High clearance, good tires, good tire placement, are a must. Go slow. We punctured a tire and had to change to a spare, and there aren't many spots to do so.

Very rocky trail with some tricky climbs. Not for anyone not willing to drive technically at a cliffs edge. Breathe taking views throughout.

Steep grade very rocky little tippy in some spots. If you’re on an atv or bike watch out for the sxs it’s a narrow trail. Great views once you get to the top.
