Trail Overview

Birch Creek Road connects the Cub River Road to the community of Mink Creek on State Route 36. The byway allows access to the German Dugway and Telegraph roads. This is an unimproved forest road with bowling ball-sized embedded rocks and rain ruts. Enjoy the mountain and foothill views.

the trail was in mostly good condition. pretty rocky, but nothing major. the biggest the recent weather has made some puddles and made a cattle guard the biggest obstacle.

Trail is definitely rougher than you’d think. Very bumpy. Lot of rocks. Need to go very slow in places. Very similar to north section of Franklin Basin Road but longer. However, very scenic views especially with the fall colors in action.

Trail was in much rougher shape than described. Decent rocky obstacles that seem less maintained. 18” deep ruts that require some technical maneuvering.

Trail was nice. The scout camp was not too muddy. When I got to the place in the pictures there was top much snow. I didn't want to risk going it alone. I walked past the cattle guard and there was more snow so I turned around. I would have tried going through if I wasn't alone. I didn't want to get stuck.

The fall colors were very nice. This road is pretty rocky in places and has some pretty good ruts, but very doable in our side-by-side. Started on the Cub River side and went to Mink Creek. It appears there has not been any maintenance on this road for many years, but it is a nice ride.
