Trail Overview

Clarkia Marble USFS #321 from Clarkia to Hobo Cedar Grove is a well-used gravel road through private timberland and the St Joe National Forest. This roadway is subject to long stretches of corrugated roadbed with frequent use by logging trucks and hunters. The road has tight turns as you ascend near the top and there are shelf road sections without room to pass. The ancient cedar grove at the end has room for about eight vehicles, vault toilets, and picnic areas but no camping. There are private camping areas closer to Clarkia near Merry Creek and some dispersed camping after you enter the St. Joe National Forest. There is no cell phone service in the area. There are deer, elk, bear, and grouse in the area with campgrounds and dispersed camping available. For current conditions call the St. Joe Ranger District at 208-245-2531.
