Difficulty

This route is not maintained but is not difficult for Jeeps, 4X4s, SXSs, or motorcycles. You will mostly run into ruts causing the issues of clearance.

History

Various cabins and off-grid homesteads are scattered along this Forest Service road, showcasing historical and modern mountain living overlooking the Boise area.

There were some big water run off spots and ruts after last weeks rain. Only hit 2 high clearance preferred ruts. Most of the road was in decent condition. Easy enough to skillfully manage with AWD.

Access Description

Boise Ridge Road is subject to severe seasonal conditions, becoming completely impassable during the winter due to heavy snow accumulation. In the spring, melting snow creates deep mud and slick ruts that frequently trap standard passenger vehicles and low-clearance trucks.
