Trail Overview

Pigpen Gap (FS 417) is a 1.6-mile out-and-back route following a single-lane forest road with few places to pass. The packed dirt surface is not maintained and passes through heavily forested terrain with a moderate difficulty rating. Rough conditions begin early along the route, where several challenging rutted areas become progressively more demanding. Deep ruts present a real rollover risk and should be approached with careful line selection and appropriate vehicle capability. Despite its relatively short length, the combination of rough spots and sustained rutting makes this one of the more technically demanding roads in the area. Access is restricted to highway-legal vehicles only.

Interesting little out and back Trail. Some really fun washouts that get you off camber at the very beginning of this Trail. But then it turns into an overgrown forestry Road afterwards. Very tight, lots of overhanging branches on the trail.
