Trail Overview
This out-and-back trail, typical of those in the Chattahoochee National Forest, follows a mostly dirt road with some gravel and muddy sections. While generally maintained, drivers should expect ruts and occasional washouts, especially after rain. Most high-clearance vehicles should be able to navigate the route without issue. The trail is single-lane with several pull-off spots for passing and ends in a turnaround area that also serves as a good dispersed camping spot. Cell coverage is minimal to nonexistent, so come prepared with emergency supplies and reliable navigation tools. Be cautious of numerous walking and horse trails that cross the road--these are clearly marked with a red diamond and a number, and motorized vehicles are not allowed on them.
Difficulty
This trail, while maintained, has several washout areas and can become very muddy during wet weather, making conditions more challenging--especially for vehicles without proper traction or clearance.
