Trail Overview

This trail, typical of those found in the Chattahoochee National Forest, follows a mostly gravel road with some dirt and muddy sections, running from Dry Creek FR 226 to Dry Creek Branch B-FR 226B. While generally maintained, drivers should expect occasional ruts and minor washouts. Most vehicles should have no trouble navigating the route. The trail is mostly two-lane, with a few sections narrowing to a single lane, and includes a shallow creek crossing with concrete pavers for safe passage. Cell coverage is minimal to nonexistent, so come prepared with emergency supplies and reliable navigation tools. Numerous walking and horse trails cross the road--clearly marked with a red diamond and a number--and motorized vehicles are not permitted on them. At the trailhead on Dry Creek FR 226, you'll find a large parking area suitable for vehicles with trailers, an outhouse-style restroom, and a small pavilion offering shelter and a place to enjoy a quick meal out of the sun.
