Trail Overview
Chester Knob Upper Trail is a narrow 2.4-mile dirt and gravel path winding through mountainous forest in the Chattahoochee National Forest. While not heavily technical, riders should be cautious of steep drop-offs on the right side when ascending. A few scattered rocks add a minor challenge along the route. The trail is best suited for dirt bikes, ATVs, UTVs, and smaller 4x4s. Larger vehicles may find the path too tight, especially near the drop zones. One notable obstacle is a massive tree that currently blocks the trail near the end — be prepared to navigate around it or turn back. There are no major landmarks or nearby amenities, and T-Mobile users will have no cell signal in the area. Still, the peaceful mountain setting makes this a rewarding short run for riders looking to escape into the forest.
Difficulty
The trail narrows to about the width of a golf cart, and beyond the loop, there is no space to turn around if driving a four-wheeled vehicle.
