Chattahoochee River Road

Took this for my first off road experience and had a blast! We did get a surprise thunderstorm half way through but still had a great time. The roads were kept up very nice. A few dips and hills to make it fun but not bad enough to feel like I was going to get stuck. You follow the river most of the trail and get to see some really nice views of the mountain. Lot of places to park the vehicle and take a break since this is a hour and half drive. Just go slow around curves because there are people coming from both sides. This one will be incredible once the foliage thins out in winter, we had a great ride but it was busy. We stopped for lunch midway and stuck our toes in the creek. I am glad we made it out before the rains because I see some who went later had obstructions but we got through just fine 1-3pm

Tree across trail 34.80, -83.75 ish

Extremely easy and beautiful trail. The first half is incredible beautiful and pretty easy for any car that has a bit of clearance, 2wd not required. The second half is a bit more tricky as it has a quite a few mud holes but if you hit it with some speed and have the clearance you’ll be fine. Lots of places to disperse camp, fish and hike!

Excellent day for a ride. Most of the trail has been graded with fresh gravel. The north end has a few washout sections with standing water. Most of the dispersed camping sites were occupied.

The trail was mostly gravel. A few wash out from recent rain. One section was very muddy. We started from the southern end of the trail so most of our ride was an ascent. The muddy sections were a bit sketchy in the 2WD. But we have all terrain tires and made it through. I would not attempt this trail in a car. High clearance is necessary in some locations.

Open all the way back into Helen. Good condition, no issues with 2WD

No one on the trail. Too cold to get out and take pics but still a beautiful drive. Two wheel drive all the way.

Very easy basic well groomed trail. Gravel most of the way. Some sharp edge rocks that may damage past your car tires.

Lots of people hunting, camping and fishing out. We took the Augustine Gap trail ridge as the gates were open and it was beautiful.

It was really wet and muddy in 2 spots, it’s an easy ride and I stayed in 2wd the whole time. Lots of places to fish and camp for a while

Nice color on the trees, road is in good condition.
