Trail Overview

This trail is a straightforward path; however, there are sections that have puddle crossings that range from six to ten inches in size and require some ground clearance. The majority of obstacles are very straightforward and can be overcome with a stock vehicle. This road is located in the southern section of the Cockaponset State Forest, and there are numerous trails that branch off of it.

Difficulty

Easy dirt and rocky road, typically unmaintained after rain or snow. You may encounter shallow water crossings and obstacles under 12" on the trail, including small ledges. The road is mostly one vehicle wide.

After the recent rains, the trail had a lot of water holes, some that came up to the door sills on my vehicle (not saying much). The holes also had some ice that needed breaking below the already thick broken ice. Careful of your undercarriage! There was only 1 hole that was around 10 - 12" deep with sandy bottom, so not too bad. As you progress on the trail, you'll find a few small washouts for articulation.
