Willow Pass Trail

Willow Pass Trail is a 7-mile-long dirt bike trail that offers a mix of flowy riding and tighter, more technical rock segments through pine forest and burn zones. The trail weaves through dense, cluttered forest with frequent tight tree gaps and sometimes an extremely troughed center line up to a couple of feet deep. It looks like there's been some recent trail work in the area to prevent further erosion in the troughs, though. There are easy sections with sandy and silty dirt, but most of the trail is pretty rocky. Riders will encounter narrow side-hilling segments paralleling a creek with moderate exposure and small rocky water crossings. Some areas feature steeper climbs filled with tons of loose cobble that could be tricky for the less experienced rider. There are also a few intermediate embedded rock ledges and root ledges that are steep and off-camber. The trail passes through a major burn area, opening up visibility through wider meadows, while also presenting potential hazards from downfall and erosion. Despite these challenges, the overall grade is generally gradual and manageable with a few steeper sections, but it's slow-going over all the rocks. The west end starts near the Snyder Creek Trailhead, and ends on the east end at the intersection with the Illinois Pass ATV Trail.
