Trail Overview
Virginia Canyon Road - FS 279 is another portion of the lower Virginia Canyon Road, broken up by Two Brothers Road; it gets a little confusing. This is an easy scenic drive through a quiet rural area with cabins, forest, and mountain views. The route can be driven point-to-point or combined with nearby roads to create a longer loop. The road is wide, smooth, and well graded, with no major obstacles in dry conditions. It passes through a small residential area thats ore Ghost Town than active residential, with log cabins, utility lines, and several historic structures and ruins. Highlights include remnants of an old ghost-town area, a disc golf course, and small roadside art stands featuring work from local artists. Respect private property and residential traffic throughout the route. Historic buildings may be unstable, so view them from a safe distance unless access is clearly permitted.
