Roy Smith Road

Roy Smith Road is a varied mountain route through pine and aspen forest with occasional open views. The road is suitable for full-size trucks and SUVs but becomes narrow and rough in places. Expect short hill climbs, loose larger rocks, erosion, and several uneven humps and dips. Most obstacles are manageable with careful tire placement, though higher clearance is recommended. Horseback riders may be present, so slow down, give them plenty of space, and follow the rider’s directions. Watch for oncoming traffic in narrow sections and use caution after rain or snow.
