Trail Overview

Triad Ridge West (ATV) is an exhilarating 4.5-mile point-to-point trail designed specifically for riders with vehicles 50 inches or less in width, offering sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and a dynamic mix of technical terrain. Starting at an elevation of 9,311 feet and descending to 8,461 feet, this trail is ideal for intermediate four-wheel-drive ATV, dirt bike, and narrow SxS enthusiasts seeking a moderate challenge. The route begins near Forest Service Road 300, weaving through dense forests and open ridges that showcase the stunning Colorado landscape. Throughout the journey, the track transitions from hard-packed dirt to loose sandy washes, testing your vehicle's traction and suspension setup. Riders must navigate several key obstacles, including rocky gardens, rolling whoop sections, and significant trail erosion from seasonal runoff, which has created deep ruts that require careful tire placement. Water and mud are common along the low-lying portions of the trail, particularly during the late spring and early summer months when snowmelt is active. With over 1,100 feet of elevation loss and 310 feet of climbing, the trail demands consistent throttle control and a sharp eye for line choice. Due to its high elevation, the trail is best ridden from late spring to early autumn before winter snow closes the area.
