Texas Creek Woodsy Loop Trail offers a scenic and serene forest alternative for offroaders looking to escape the heavier traffic and rocky terrain of the main Texas Creek Trail. Ideal for drivers of high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles, side-by-sides (SxSs), and OHVs, this 3.2-mile route winds through dense pine forests and peaceful meadows with beautiful opportunities for camping and trailside picnics. The trail reaches elevations between 9,502 and 9,741 feet, climbing gently with minimal overall elevation gain. This route offers a secluded, shaded experience with several pull-offs that present scenic mountain views and secluded campsites. With a technical difficulty rating of 3, the trail features a mostly dirt and unpaved forest surface interspersed with small mud holes and minor rock obstacles that are easily navigated with careful tire placement. It connects to Forest Road 755 (North Texas Creek Road) and Forest Road 726, making it an excellent segment to integrate into a larger day of riding in the Taylor Park area. Due to the high-elevation mountain environment above 9,500 feet, the trail is best ridden from late spring through autumn, as winter snows will block access. Offroaders should expect a quiet, less-traveled passage that serves as an excellent loop connector or a standalone scenic retreat away from more crowded rock-crawling routes.
