Trail Overview

This is an easy trail outside Silverton, CO. This trail takes you through Copper Gulch on the North end and ascends as you go south into the Rolling Mountain Valley. The trail is a dirt road for the first 4 miles and transitions into a mild shelf road for the last 3 miles. There are 3 locations for RV camping and multiple dispersed camping spots along the way. The end of the trail has multiple drive-to dispersed camping spots.

First time we came up here we were pretty nervous because there were people parked all along the road at every place we would be able to turn around and didn’t know what to expect. Plus I was in 2wd with no areas to put it into 4x4. Made it just fine even in 2wd but there is a really rock section that bounced the van all over. High clearance is an absolute must and 4x4 helps. Idiots back there flying a drone up to a moose’s face >:-(
