Trail Overview

Just outside of Delta, Colorado, inside Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area, you'll find an unmaintained jeep trail that leads you out onto a peninsula with spectacular views of the Gunnison Gorge. The trail overall is relatively easy to navigate with the occasional steep grade, loose rocks, and narrow roads that most SUVs and trucks should be able to manage.

Met some dirt bikes on the way down, that’s all we saw. We had the trail to ourselves and it was perfect to take time on and stop and look around for the views. Sunset was epic as we were headed back down. The trees were close in some spots and there’s maybe potential for pinstripes. First time traveling this trail and it appears it has definitely washed pretty good in some areas. Not technical but pretty Rocky. We debated airing down at first and I was glad we did. Some of the steps and rocks were sharp and it wasn’t worth the risk. Views at the top were 100% worth it. We got to a decent viewpoint at first and debated going further with it being later in the day and I’m glad we completed it!
