Trail Overview
Rock N' Roll 2 (1434) is an exciting and diverse trail designed for riders of dirt bikes, ATVs, and 50-inch side-by-sides (SxSs) looking for a scenic climb through Colorado's Fourmile Travel Management Area. Spanning approximately 4.75 miles, this route offers a fantastic mix of terrain, transitioning from sandy washes and pine forests to rugged rocky sections. Starting from the eastern end is highly recommended, as it allows operators to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys while descending. Along the way, travelers will experience a steady elevation change, starting at 8,331 feet and climbing to a maximum height of 9,596 feet. The trail's technical rating of 4 means offroaders should be prepared for several steep sections and loose surfaces that require careful line selection.
The trail follows a winding path near Little Cottonwood Creek, exposing adventurers to beautiful backcountry landscapes. Due to the strict 50-inch width restriction, full-sized four-wheel-drive vehicles are prohibited, preserving the narrow, technical character of the path for smaller rigs. The cumulative elevation gain of 1,524 feet keeps the ride engaging, with maximum gradients reaching up to 22 degrees on the steepest pitches. Because of its seasonal designation, motorized access is restricted from December 1 through April 30, making late spring through autumn the best time to visit. During the winter closure, the trail remains open to non-motorized recreation including hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Access Description
Motorized vehicles wider than 50 inches are prohibited. The route is subject to a seasonal closure for motorized vehicles from December 1 through April 30. Non-motorized recreation including hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding remains open year-round.
