Rifle Creek Road

This road begins near Rifle Gap Reservoir and provides access to several residential areas, OHV routes, and backcountry roads that branch throughout the surrounding foothills. The landscape here feels surprisingly different from much of Colorado, blending rugged desert terrain with forested hillsides in a way that almost resembles a cross between West Virginia and New Mexico. The route itself is easy and serves as a great way to explore this unique and often-overlooked corner of the state. Well worth a drive if you're looking to experience scenery that stands apart from Colorado's more typical alpine landscapes.
