Trail Overview

Trail is an offshoot of the popular Mosquito Pass trail. It takes you past Oliver Twist Lake. It's a natural glacier lake that you can actually catch some trout at if you're lucky. The trail can definitely hold snow late into the year, most likely will be covered in snow until June. The trail itself isn't too difficult. Uneven, rutted dirt trail with potential for loose rocks and sandy washes. Water crossings less than a foot deep. Potential for mud holes and trail obstacles up to 12", including ledges and short, steep grades. Roads are typically one vehicle wide with places to pass.

Most of the trail was a nice break from the rockier Mosquito Pass. Conditions we're wet and snowy causing some deep water crossings greater than one foot however bypass was available for less capable vehicles

Taking Mosquito Pass up towards Oliver Twist Lake, the road was open for a ways. Once you pass the North London Mill site (don't confuse with the North London Mine) and turn to the left, you hit some fairly deep snow that covers the road as far as we could see. Being new to the 4x4 game, didn't want to risk it. Area past the mill is quite beautiful. On the way up, there are some rather deep snow runoff puddles. Water was higher than our Bronco's running boards on one (35"tires). Still enjoyed the trip!

Quick trip up Mosquito Pass to Oliver Twist Lake. The lake road itself is easy but the last half mile of the pass to the lake turnoff is a bit more difficult. Loose rock and some intermediate obstacles. Lifted 4Runner and F-150 made it no problem
