Trail Overview
Middle Quartz Trail is a short ATV trail connecting full-width road sections of FS 622. There are pinch points at each entrance preventing wider vehicles from entering. The section of ATV trail is only about a half mile long. There are dispersed campsites on either end of the trail along FS Road 622. It goes through a narrow forested corridor, an ideal width for ATVs, paralleling the North Quartz Creek and Cumberland Pass Road. There are several rockier sections full of big round river rock, including a rocky ravine crossing. There aren’t any major rock obstacles or ledges, though; it’s just a slower and bumpier ride in spots. It’s just a scenic little connector trail that is ideal for families or younger riders wanting to practice from their nearby campsites.
Difficulty
This is a beginner-friendly trail that is near several campsites and is ideal for newer or younger riders. There are a few rocky and narrow segments, but overall it is flat and free of any major obstacles.
