Trail Overview
Little Gravel Mountain is a moderately challenging 5.5-mile trail near Grand Lake, Colorado located in the Arapaho National Forest. Climbing from an elevation of 9,705 feet up to a peak of 10,590 feet, the route winds through dense pine forests and over rocky terrain that keeps drivers on their toes. While there are no massive boulders or extreme obstacles, the trail features a technical rating of 4, meaning you will encounter plenty of rough patches, embedded rocks, and tight, narrow corridors between trees. The trail operates on a seasonal basis, generally opening on June 15 and closing on November 15 due to winter. For those looking to extend their adventure, the route offers a connection to the Camway Trail, though this connector is strictly limited to vehicles 50 inches or less in width. To access the trailhead, offroaders should follow Stillwater Pass Road (F.S. 53) for 8.6 miles before turning left onto F.S. 816.1 at the sign for Little Gravel Spur Road. Access Description
The route is subject to seasonal closures and is open to motorized vehicles from June 15 to November 15. The connection to the nearby Camway Trail is strictly restricted to vehicles with a maximum width of 50 inches, such as ATVs or dirt bikes.
