Trail Overview

This trail offers some amazing views of Kings Canyon and the Little Dolores Canyon. Colorado National Monument is in this area, so you'll want to take your time do drive through this as well. It is a fee area. You can find some great camping along the way, and unlicensed vehicles are permitted. There is a staging area just before the trailhead.

Difficulty

Easy. Variety of conditions from graded roads to narrow, rutted and sandy roads. Steep in a few places with small rocky ledges. Do not attempt if wet.

As stated before, main trailhead has a gate that is locked and signage that says no trespassing…Little Delores Road to 617 does connect. Camped out at the end of the trail near the Utah border…incredible views, fun trail!

Locked Gate

Trailhead was gated, locked, and signed as no trespassing. I have not tried but it looks like trail can still be accssesed usuing Little Dolores Road

We were at the trailhead on 7-4-2023. Trailhead was gated, locked, and signed as no trespassing. Please let me know if this trailhead is now open. Thank you.
