Trail Overview

This is a new route with one creek crossing. Unlicensed vehicles are permitted, but the trail requires an OHV permit.

Difficulty

Difficult. Much of the trail is moderate, but two sections are marginally difficult. A clear-cut area for the new route has a lot of tree stumps waiting to catch on low hanging differentials. Another section is steep with some good size rock ledges. Aggressive, highclearance SUVs with a skilled driver should be able to get through.

Went the trail downhill from rolling pass, a downed tree right about the mid point. Passed it from the left between two trees with my bike, pretty much dead end for anything wider. Pretty narrow so it’ll be difficult to turn around.

Took Jenny Creek down. Snow most of the way - maybe 2”. Ground under the snow is still soft. No traction issues. Made it all the way through.

Tight trail with large rocks in a couple of places. Water crossings were low. Some campsites. It’s not easy to pass oncoming traffic, but there are places to pull off. Stock Trailhunter did it fine, but it scraped the skid plates and sliders pretty had in a couple of spots in the woods.

there's snow drifts at the end of the trail that are unpassable. the stream crossing was no issue. the trail can be considered tight. there's no obstacle on this trail, no sights to see off this trail, should be a 4.

Trail has narrowed to the point of pushing small trees out of the way to continue down trail. River is flowing hard and nearly pushed the truck down river. Right after the river there is a small glacier that is unpassable and had to back up and out of the trail

Rode West to East, mostly downhill through the rocky sections which was a plus. This is a great trail and challenging even in a sxs. One short section with water running down the trail covering the full width of the road maybe 8-10 inches deep.

You can tell many SUVs have hit trees possible with their side mirrors. Be aware of these types of issues. It’s not wide at all and pickup trucks larger than my 4Runner will struggle unless highly modified. Some folks don’t know the rules for trails, and seemed to not care about passing. You must have modified suspension with lift. I didn’t need any recovery equipment. However, conditions can change this need so be prepared. My buddy was with me. We are both experienced off road drivers. Even with some bickering back and forth and getting communications cleared up, it was still hard. We did great, no damage other than running boards that were not made for this trail. Make sure you have real rock sliders. Time for some upgrades.

Very pretty and enjoyable. About the maximum you could do in a stock Tacoma. Did fine with a tundra on 33”. There are a few shallow water crossings and large rocks and narrow paths throughout.

Super fun, a little challenging but a buddy in a stock 4 door long bed 3rd gen tacoma made it with a little rock stacking, some spotting, and some scraping. 10/10 would do again.

The trail is pretty difficult even with a 5" lift and low gears. Don't even try it in anything bigger than a jeep it's very narrow and requires a ton of articulation. There are 2 water crossings that were a little tricky. But the path is obstructed by 3 large trees about halfway up. Unfortunately I didn't bring a chainsaw and was not able to move them. It's really hard to turn around once you get to that point. My advice is turn around at the first water crossing.
