Trail Overview

This is a relatively short out-and-back route that is easily managed by any vehicle with good ground clearance. In dry conditions, 4WD is generally unnecessary. The trail follows several scenic shelf-road sections that feel comfortable and non-intimidating due to their generous width and limited exposure. Along the route, you’ll also find several excellent dispersed campsites tucked away in the meadows on unmarked spur roads. During the time of mapping, a downed tree prevented the route from being completed to its end. Deadfall is common throughout the summer months in this area, so carrying a handsaw or chainsaw is highly recommended—not only to clear obstacles ahead but also to ensure you can exit the area should a tree fall behind you.
